Some call it an accident, I call it a lesson learned

Ironically, I wrote a similar title for this post with the intentions to blog about a lesson I learned a week ago. However, I didn’t get around to it until a recent experience inspired me to share my lessons.

As the saying goes, when you’re on a journey to great there will be many distractions but you have to stay focused and show Universe that you’ve learned the lessons that it has offered you while on your journey.

I, like many have long wondered why certain things would constantly show up in my experiences or relationships. That is, until I began to understand that everything in life is energy, and that energy “is merely transferred from one source to the next.” Therefore, whatever energy you put out you get back, and it’s not limited to relationships with people, money, material things, and self.

Whatever energy you put into a thing (positive or negative), you will get out of that very same thing.

With this in mind, it recently came to my attention that I too had given off bad energy in certain areas of my life. It all came to a head as I was involved in a minor but scary hit and run accident in which the other driver fled the scene. The easiest thing to do after it occurred was to be angry about how my life had been endangered, as well as the damaged done to my car… which I was. But I was quickly reminded to release the anger by allowing it to subside and give thanks for all that I was grateful for just moments after.

All too often we go through life struggling in ways that even GOD tells us is unnecessary, but we do it anyway. As Oprah recently put it, every other animal species on the planet flees when it senses danger, but human beings are the only species to walk right into it.  In life there are always signs all around us that show when our lives are spiraling out of control based on the energy that we have offered life over time. And sometimes it takes for one to suffer or experience scary situations (sometimes several times) before we become aware of just what we have offered life.

For myself, it had been about me being so consumed with the many tasks of everyday life, that I lost track of what was most important. My family and friends, my health and well-being, and the opportunity to “get it right” the next time. Unfortunately this lesson had to come at the expense of a bashed-in car and little whiplash, but the lessons provided were so great that I now stand more appreciative than resentful of the experience.

It is only when one is given the precious opportunity to become aware of one’s self that he can change for the better and make different decisions. Once aware, there is ample opportunity to take another route and show GOD and the Universe that  you have learned your lessons by doing and thinking differently.

…Which reminds of a song… Although it pertains to love gone wrong, the principles can apply to any aspect of everyone’s life. Enjoy!

What I know for sure…

“Yes, it’s the famous line that I borrowed from my “SheRo” Oprah Winfrey.”

I know that my life thus far has been unfolding for no reason short of greatness. I don’t write this to seem arrogant, or overly assured. Instead I write this with the same spirit of which our favorite rappers, or poets prophesy over their own destiny. I write these lines with conviction because I un-mistakenly believe that “your life becomes what you believe.”

I believe that one day I will remember this blog post and know that I was never wrong about how I’ve always felt… that my strengths will strengthen a movement so powerful, and so ordained by GOD and the Universe, that its will cannot, and will not be denied.

What I know for sure is that I will never stop learning and growing in the direction of my spirit’s song.

What I know for sure is that the dreams that I dream do not compare to that which the Universe sees fit for its world and the people in it.

What I know for sure is that I am thankful that man’s vision cannot touch that of GOD’s, because that… that would be much too overwhelming for the human subconscious to hold true.

What I know for sure is that the vision that I have been entrusted with by GOD has led me to spend my life’s breaths ensuring that I continuously work in the direction of its fulfillment.

What I know for sure is that inspiration and humility are a major part of my life’s purpose. And so, that is what I will continue to nurture, share, live, and be. I pray that all who read this and become inspired by it will do the same… Know what you “know” about your life for sure.

Making Peace With What Is Lightens the Load

Often times, when we are faced with obstacles, the natural reaction is to stress about it; we worry ourselves sick, or we crumble under pressure and retract from life momentarily since its easier to escape or numb yourself from the pain.

My process, like anyone else who is striving to be their best self, has been a rollercoaster indeed. But even in the midst of my own concerns, I am learning to make peace with whatever I am facing, because it’s the only way that I can truly welcome a better outcome.

When you can learn to accept what is as nothing more than a temporary occurence (as is every fleeting moment of life on Earth), you enable yourself to then begin to tell a different story. You make room for new thoughts and ways of being because you no longer allow the old thoughts of “lack” to consume you. As you begin to shift your awareness, the Universe will respond accordingly.

One of the most accurate quotes I once heard states:

“What you resist, persists.”

This quote could not be more head on. When you give something your attention long enough to let it worry or stress you out, then you are subconsciously welcoming more of it (and things like it) into your experience because of your resistance to what is. But when you can come to peace with it; when you can accept it as a temporary discomfort, and then begin to speak and think thoughts of happiness, abundance, prosperity, and love, the Universe will grant you more of those things to be grateful for.

It has never been rocket science for one to live the life that one dreams of. It has always been in the power of thought and the focus of energy (emotions such as desire, belief, faith, and the opposite of each). Every religion that ever existed points us in this very direction of guarding one’s mind and monitoring one’s energy flow. IT is the most significant battle that we face as humans (the battle of the mind/spirit), but IT is one worth fighting.

May peace, love, and prosperity consume you…

The Dream Maker: Thinking & Growing Rich

image

Think & Grow Rich…

Its been almost three weeks since I’ve purchased this book, and believe it or not, I’m still reading it. But that’s a good thing.

Each time I pick it up I come across sentences laced with concepts so powerful that I’m forced to give myself time to absorb them fully.

The thing is, when I’m drawn to concepts which give me a strong sense of enligtenment, I like to  give myself time to think about them; to take them in enough to see how they could be applied to my everyday life. I like to put myself to the test because I have a strong understanding that knowledge alone is not power… but applied knowledge IS.

And so, thanks to Napoleon Hill, I am coming to fully understand “Power thinking and being.” I believe that none of us are ever really far off from reaching our fullest potential, we just have to be open to new ways of channeling our energy and focus so that we can make room for new ways of being.

I must say that I am enjoying this part of my life because I have never felt so free to do and be all that I can imagine.

Also, I am proud to know that I already possess the humble beginnings of what Mr. Hill refers to as the “Master Mind group.”

According to Hill, “People take on the nature and the habits and the POWER OF THOUGHT of those with whom they associate with in a spirit of sympathy or harmony.”

In other words, those who are in a position of power or sucess have attained it through their association or alliance with others who are on the same frequency of success and power, and have come together in harmony to form an energy so great that it cannot be denied by anyone or anything, not even the Universe.

It reminds me of the Bible verse which says:

“Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall AGREE on earth as touching any THING that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:19,20)

This revelation is so profound that it pays wonders to be able to grasp and apply it.

My hope is that as I continue to grow and learn and share with others my lessons, that others will allow the power of applied enlightenment to take over their worlds and make life pure bliss… or at least close to it. 😉

Until next time,

There is power in being kind to yourself

I’m at an interesting point in my life where I’m gaining a better understanding about the power of kindness and compassion for self.  Most of us would like to believe that we are kind and compassionate by nature, and to a certain degree we are. But kindness and compassion for self  is something that most people struggle with on a large-scale, including myself for some time.

It wasn’t until I came to understand the concept that you can only effectively be the “thing” for others, that  you are for yourself, that my eyes began to open. My personal struggle was that I couldn’t be as compassionate and kind towards others as I really wanted to  because I had mental blocks that wouldn’t even allow me to be gentle, or feel compassion for myself. At first this was a hard pill to swallow, that is until I began to dig deeper.

The truth is, I had always been very hard on myself, especially when it came to setting goals, and getting things accomplished. I’m not quite sure where I learned it from, but I recall being extremely critical with myself whenever I felt that I didn’t meet a certain goal, or complete certain tasks.   Guilty as charged.

Luckily for me, I was able to identify this as something that I NEEDED  to change within myself to allow myself room to grow in other areas. If I wanted to have a better relationship with life (which includes relationships with family, friends, partners, as well as better experiences, health, etc.) I needed to get a grip on showing myself some TLC, and a lot more of it.

In order to do this, I began to put an end to criticizing myself, even for the slightest of things. We don’t recognize what powerful messages we are constantly sending the Universe when we criticize ourselves. Every single time you find something to criticize yourself about, you are subconsciously telling the Universe “I’m not good enough.” Therefore, you attract experiences and people into your life that give you more validation of not being good enough. Think about your life long and hard, and try to understand what I’m talking about… This is exactly what I knew I had to put an end to.

Once you become aware of criticism within yourself, you have to tell yourself the opposite of what you normally would, something nice for a change. Tell yourself you are beautiful/handsome, flaws and all; that you love and approve of yourself no matter where you are in life; that you are never lacking because God always provides for you; that you forgive yourself for anything that you previously disapproved of; that you are where you are, and that is perfectly okay because every situation in life is temporary; that you respect your life process and trust that you always make the right decisions that will add to your growth. All of these thoughts counteract the negative one’s that you’ve probably been telling yourself all your life. Repeating them as often as possible, especially when you feel the need to criticize yourself or others, will begin to set you free.

When you can focus on becoming a better you, there is no room for finding fault in others. Therefore, you can be genuinely kind and compassionate towards others, because you will begin to be it for yourself. More importantly, the Universe will begin to support every positive thought that you bring to it, and life will begin to be much more rewarding.

Remember, thoughts become things. And whatever it is that you choose to believe becomes true for you.

You wish for better, but do you welcome it?

Every now and then we all find ourselves at a particular point in our lives when we wish that things would get just a little bit better.  And boy is it easy to become so consumed with what is going on around you, only to forget about everything that is already “better.”

During the course of my own life journey I’ve been known to complain here and there about how much I need a break from what life dishes out at me. Yes, guilty as charged. But it’s never really long before I am reminded of the role that I must play, in order for things to lighten up.

First of all, there’s this little concept called “attitude of gratitude.” The way it works is that when you approach life and situations with the energy and intentions of being grateful, instead of being full of complaints, then Universe will only return to you more things to be grateful for. It really does work this way… TRIED & TRUE!

But it must be accompanied by an additional action on your behalf. That is, letting go of whatever it is that you have held on to. This can be a number of things such as past relationships, old and new fears, bad habits, criticism of yourself and others, and past hurts and offenses among other things. These are the things that keep you in bondage and can block any and every blessing that the GOD truly intends for you. Without letting go of this excessive baggage, quite frankly you wouldn’t know better if it smacked you in the face.

Think about it, how often is it that you visit places where you know you are not welcomed, especially if  its overcrowded? My guess is that most people naturally avoid such awkward situations. Animals instinctively do this too, and life responds the same exact way. Only the  things that you welcome into your life become a frequent part of your life experience, because it’s what you allow at the time.

Learn to release those things that serve you no good because it’ll only be taking up the space within. If you don’t welcome better with open arms by releasing all things old, then how will the “good” ever come? You must trust that the very things that you are wanting, want you just as bad. But you have to make those things feel welcomed.

@BCSTARKS over and out! 🙂

Louise Hay says ‘You Can Heal Your Life’: The powerful connection between thoughts, the body, & life

image

I was first introduced to the concept of the “law of attraction” as a sophomore in college. It’s a concept that has resonated with my spirit ever since. That’s probably because I was raised in a household that taught me that I could do and be anything in life as long as I believed it, and put lots of work into it.

In addition to that, growing up Christian Baptist taught me to ‘ask, and I shall receive… seek, and I shall find… knock, and the or shall be opened.’ And I could never forget one of my favorite BIBLE verses (okay, so I can’t remember exactly, lol) that says, “But wilt thou know ‘o’ vain man, that faith without works is dead?”

These very ideas shape who I have become today and forever more. But I have yet to become more impressed by any other groundbreaking piece of literature or idea, than that of bestselling author and metaphysics guru Louise Hay’s book titled, You Can Heal Your Life.

If you’re not familiar with the concept of the law of attraction, it pretty much states that your thoughts and the energy behind them are what shape your life experiences. In other words, most of what happens in life is not pure chance, but involves more interaction on your own part than you realize.

Louise takes this concept one step further by introducing the effect of thoughts on the body. Believe it or not, you can think yourself sick! Hence the reason why stress, anxiety, and depression can all lead to further bodily complications. According to metaphysical teachings, a lifetime of resentment, anger, and guilt (all emotions/ dis-eases of the mind) can lead to cancer, AIDS, and even simple things like ulcers (all dis-eases in the body).

But just as it is possible that you make yourself sick, you also have the power to make yourself well. Louise offers affirmations that help to re-program a lifetime of fear and negative thinking into new beginnings of self-love, forgiveness, compassion, overall well-being, and patience with the processes of life.

Reading this book can be life changing. At least, it has been for me. I would recommend everyone to check it out. Even if you don’t agree with things that she shares in her book, it will definitely force you to think about changing old patterns of thought.

Until next time, get ya mind right ppl!

Much Love,

@BCSTARKS 🙂
