Letting go of fear

The thing that holds us hostage and continuously paralyzes us into a state of unproductiveness is a four letter word. F-E-A-R. It’s what dreams deferred and a loss of hope are made of. And if you aren’t careful, it can ruin your life.

No matter what area of your life you allow fear to dominate, it’s quite noticeable that you just can’t seem to get very far. This is probably true because you’ve been dedicated to telling yourself things about your reality for a lifetime, until you eventually begin to believed that they are true.

In the words of Esther Hicks,” A belief is just a thought that you keep thinking until you believe that it is true…” In doing so, you’ve somehow convinced yourself that you don’t have what it takes to do, be, or allow whatever images of happiness, joy, and abundance that you have imagined for yourself.

And you are absolutely right! Thinking from a source of “not-having,” only sets you up to kill your dreams before you can even give them a try. That is, as long as you continue to allow these patterns of thought to dominate your life experience.

Fear is born out of the idea that you are lacking something, and because you believe that you are lacking whatever the “thing” is, you keep yourself moving forward.

But the truth about life is that we are all born with everything that we need within. That means that you are already whole and perfectly complete as you are. But until you start believing this to be true, you are keeping yourself from the kind of life that you wish, the kind of life that the Creator has intended for you to have.

When you can learn to stop giving your attention to your “temporary” reality [Pause: I use the word “temporary” because that’s just what life is, and so is every single moment in it.] …and begin to train yourself to believe that even the things that you cannot see are possible, you will be exercising what most religions are based on; FAITH.

It’s the same concept that the old Christian saying emphasizes, “…walk by faith, and not by sight.”

In other words, you can practice letting go of fear just by telling a different story. Whatever negative thoughts you are believing to be true, tell yourself a thought that is equally opposite, or at least closer to being optimistic, and do it often. Do it until you begin to believe it.

It may seem silly at first, especially if you are the type who has to see it to believe it. But even the things that you see are selectively chosen. Hence, why two people in the same place at the same time, will have two different stories to tell about the same instance. Remember that perception and perspective are key here.

Use every opportunity that you can to take action towards the things that you are wanting and hoping for. So what if you’re not there yet? If you do something each day that is in alignment with what you are wanting, eventually your reality will become what you once imagined. And that is what we call “living a dream.”

Anything worth having requires hard work. And that even includes training yourself to think differently. Let’s tell a new story and watch miracles unfold.

BCSTARKS, over and out! 🙂
