“Anyone who is critical of others is not happy with themselves. If you are a person who has trained yourself to see positive aspects in others, then you probably do the same for yourself. If you are someone who has trained yourself to see mostly negative aspects in others, then you probably do the same for yourself. Its impossible to attract positive things, people, or experiences into your life if you can’t acknowledge the positive aspects in yourself first, and then in others…”
Learning How to Appreciate Yourself:
Self-appreciation is one of the most profound concepts of human life. Its not something that people are born with, its a learned behavior whether the teacher is a parent, a friend, religion, spirituality, or life itself. But it is something that must be acknowledged because it sets the tone for whether you are at peace, whether you can experience happiness or joy, and whether you make the best decisions for yourself as you go about life.
When you can learn to appreciate your flaws (because they make you unique), the things that you are good at (because they are what make you strong), your experiences (because they teach you many lessons), where you are (because you are no longer where you were before), and your journey (because it has brought you to right now), then you are in the practice of setting yourself free. Learning to appreciate these things in yourself allows you become aware of things to appreciate in others. The more that you begin practice an “attitude of gratitude,” the more goodness will flow into your life.
This, my friends, is a beautiful lesson indeed…and I’m taking it all in. 🙂
